Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration Building
Texas Tech University
The Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration project at Texas Tech University includes a four-story, academic facility conforming with the traditional Spanish Renaissance architecture of the campus. The project includes 22 technology rich classrooms, comprehensive undergraduate and graduate level student services, grouped and individual study areas, faculty and staff office spaces, and conference and large meeting spaces.
The building was designed to achieve a LEED Gold rating that included mechanical, electrical, and plumbing strategies such as air-to-air energy recovery units, occupancy sensors, CO2 sensors, low flow and zero flow plumbing fixtures, and the use of premium efficiency motors.
The building saves 20 percent of energy and 23 percent of energy costs as well as 47 percent of water usage for a like-sized building not built to LEED standards.
