This 48,000 SF project for Center for Longevity and Aging Studies has major research themes focus on four basic models of aging research: Cellular Aging, Invertebrate Aging, Transgenic Models of Aging, and Human Genetics of Aging.  Investigators in the Human Genetics of Aging Program have pioneered studies to identify genes associated with aging in humans.

The primary research spaces within the facility include research laboratories, computational research facilities, research support areas, Laboratory Animal Resources (LAR) with a transgenic component, and administrative and building support facilities.

The mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems consist of special temperature and humidity controls for the 11,950 SF vivarium with dual fan air handler, Lab-Trac VAV system for laboratories, RO/DI water, vacuum, air and natural gas plumbing systems, backup electrical emergency systems for vivarium and laboratories.
