Education complex and Music Building

Shah Smith & Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design engineering services for the Education Complex and Central Plant for Texas A&M University in Kingsville.

This facility includes a new state-of-the-art music education building which is crucial to support the continued growth of the Music Department. This new facility expands the space needed to maintain accreditation of the music degree program while providing state-of-the-art music spaces. One of the goals of the new facility is to provide the Music Department with a dedicated performance space. This building also includes a state of the art performance hall to be utilized as a teaching space as well as community performance space

Central Plant

To support this new facility a new central plant was designed as part of this project.  This plant is located adjacent to the music building and will serve the music building and other new buildings on this area of the campus.

  • 2 – 1,000 ton chillers
  • 2 – 3,000 ton cooling towers
  • Chilled water pumps
  • Condenser water pumps
  • New electrical service
