Dr. Jeffery Bolander, D.Eng., P.E.

President

Dr. Jeffery Bolander is the President of Shah Smith and Associates, Inc. He has over 37 years of consulting engineering experience and is well known for his expertise in central plant and thermal utility design, analysis, and operation. Since joining Shah Smith in 1994, Dr. Bolander has designed and managed many projects, guided the implementation of CAD, including Building Information Modeling, and led the mechanical engineering group.

Dr. Bolander holds a Doctor of Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Doug Belisle, P.E., LEED AP

Principal

Doug Belisle is the head of the Electrical department. He has over 29 years of experience, 27 of which have been with Shah Smith in the design and analysis of low and medium voltage electrical systems, lighting, relay protection, and life safety systems for hospitals, universities, research, and other institutional facilities.

Doug graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering.

Scott Sevigny, P.E., LEED AP

Principal

Scott Sevigny has been with Shah Smith & Associates, Inc. since 1998. He brings over 26 years of experience as a professional engineer and currently serves as a client executive/senior project manager. An accomplished mechanical engineer, Scott is a Navy veteran and holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Master of Science in architectural engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

His education combined with his background in general contracting, as well as his leadership training while a U.S. Naval Aviator, has earned Scott a reputation as an expert in leading MEP portion of challenging and complex projects. Scott’s portfolio of delivered projects has a breadth which includes aviation, higher Ed, Private life science, healthcare, Science and Technology, Library, and master planning, with particular depth in vivaria, research labs, and healthcare.

Erik Dietz, P.E., LEED AP

Principal

Erik Dietz is the head of the Mechanical Department. He has over 30 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, 27 of which have been working with Shah Smith & Associates, Inc. His experience covers all aspects of MEP design, analysis and project management. He has served as Project Manager on a variety of multi-million-dollar university, research laboratory, and other institutional projects, including the $135 million Zachry Engineering Education Complex for Texas A&M University. His attention to detail and coordination has led to the success of many technically complicated projects.

Erik graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor and Master of Science in mechanical engineering. He enjoys spending time outdoors, including skiing, biking, and hiking in and around his hometown of Golden, Colorado.

Wesley Stidham, P.E., LEED AP

Principal

Wesley Stidham is the Austin Managing Principal. During his more than two decades at SSA, he has directed the establishment and expansions of the Austin and Dallas offices. He has over 30 years of experience in the design, analysis and project management of MEP systems for multi-million dollar facilities in higher education, healthcare, research, public works and government.

Wesley graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting and raising livestock with his family and their pet goat, Stir-fry.

Ricky Nietsche, CPD

Principal

Ricky Nietsche is the head of the Plumbing Department at Shah Smith & Associates. He has over 38 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design for an array of projects, including laboratory, research, higher education, sports, corporate, healthcare, housing, industrial, and government facilities. Since joining Shah Smith & Associates, Inc. in 1999, his expertise in new technology, such as water recycling and high-tech labs, has contributed to award-winning projects.

Ricky is a Certified Plumbing Designer and graduate of Texas State Technical College.

Joseph Routhier, P.E., LEED AP

Principal

Joseph Routhier has 22 years of experience in the design of low and medium-voltage electrical systems, lighting, relay protection, and life safety systems for research, hospitals, universities, and other institutional facilities. He joined the company in 2003 and has dedicated most of his entire career to Shah Smith & Associates.

Joseph graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Jon Harper, P.E.

Principal

Jon is the Assistant Department Head to the Mechanical team. He has over 14 years of experience in design and analysis of mechanical systems for institutional facilities, healthcare, central utility plants, multi-use student union buildings, commercial kitchen facilities, and laboratories. He is skilled in using modeling software for energy models for LEED, load calculations for building design and pipe flow analyses.

Jon graduated from the Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Scott Pantermuehl, P.E.

Principal

Scott is the Assistant Department Head to the Plumbing team. He has over 20 years of experience in designing plumbing and HVAC systems for healthcare, laboratory facilities, higher education, aviation and central plants. His project management experience includes healthcare and higher education. He joined Shah Smith & Associates in 2003 and has dedicated his entire post college career to the company.

Scott graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
