Shah Smith & Associates, Inc. (SSA) provided Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing design engineering services for the Annunciation Orthodox School Phase 1 Expansion.
This project was a 56,2500 SF addition to the existing Annunciation Orthodox School campus in Montrose. The new education building has a cafeteria and kitchen, classrooms, administration offices, and a green roof for student learning.
The MEP systems designed for this facility include the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, normal power systems, fire protection, domestic water, storm drainage, and grease waste systems. The following highlights some of the infrastructure designed to meet the student needs at this facility:
Fabric supply air ductwork in the dining area for improved thermal comfort and acoustics.
Duct mounted sound attenuators throughout the facility to reduce noise levels in the student learning spaces.
Variable speed compressors in the rooftop air handling units to reduce the building energy use during off peak loads.
Grease exhaust and grease waste system for the new kitchen, which supports with student dining.
