Meet The Team

Erik Dietz leads the Mechanical Department. He has over 33 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, 30 of which have been working with Shah Smith & Associates, Inc. His experience covers all aspects of MEP design, analysis and project management. He has served as Engineer of Record and Project Manager on a variety of multi-million-dollar university, research laboratory, and other institutional projects, including the $135 million Zachry Engineering Education Complex for Texas A&M University. His attention to detail and coordination has led to the success of many technically complicated projects.

Erik graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor and Master of Science in mechanical engineering. He enjoys spending time outdoors, including skiing, biking, and hiking in and around his hometown of Golden, Colorado.
